Pupil Voice Groups

Welcome to the pupil voice page at Wick and Marcross Church in Wales School. We believe that the things our children have to say are important and plays a vital role in shaping the future of our community. Through the pupil voice groups , children across the school have the opportunity to share what matters to them and are able to help shape the school community. They learn about the importance of decision making, develop confidence and leadership skills as well as making a difference to the learning and environment here at Wick..

Faith Group

This year our key focus is on our worshiping community. We have lots of ideas and plans for the year. The key areas we will be developing are shared below.

Ensure prayer is central to the life of our school by:

Organising a prayer festival at the start and end of the school year.
Creating a school prayer station.
Resourcing and sharing a prayer station that can rotate around the classes in school.

Enhance the worship experience in our school by:

Developing the role children take in leading worship both for the community and for each other.
Developing the use of ising pop as a resource for class led worship.
Widening the range of songs we sing in worship.
Working with the adults in our community to review our worship provision.

Languages Group

This year our key focus is on the promotion of langauges to provide a welcome. We have lots of ideas and plans for the year. The key areas we will be developing are shared below.

Achieve the Siarter Iaith Silver Award.
Create a weekly competition to practice the phrase of the week.
Create a pupil led Welsh graffiti wall on Padlet. Publish resources, books, key vocabulary, phrases of the week.
Organise activities to celebrate significant dates in the Welsh calendar.
Take responsibility for rewarding pupils for speaking Welsh during We Are Proud.
Create, promote and run the Cwtch Café.

Global Group

Our Global Group is a pupil-led team who care about making a positive difference in our school, our community and our world. We work together to learn about important global issues and take meaningful action.

This year, we are excited to:

Welcome new members to grow our team and share new ideas.
Refresh our vision so everyone can clearly explain what we stand for.
Choose key themes (such as Sustainable Living, Children’s Rights, Fair Trade or Global Diversity) to guide our work.
Create a pupil-designed logo or tagline to represent our mission.
Build partnerships with local and global communities, including guest speakers and possible link schools.
Hold termly impact meetings to reflect on our achievements and plan our next steps.
