Attendance

At Wick and Marcross Church in Wales Primary School, we believe that every day in school matters and that attendance is everyone’s responsibility. We are committed to creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and a strong sense of belonging. By working in partnership with families and our wider community, we aim to ensure that children are encouraged to attend school regularly, engage in their learning and flourish both academically and personally.

At Wick and Marcross Church in Wales Primary School, we believe that every day matters. Regular attendance provides children with the opportunity to learn, grow, build friendships and feel a strong sense of belonging. Our vision is to work in partnership with families to create a culture where every child feels safe, valued and supported to attend school regularly, overcome barriers and thrive. We aim:​

  • Families are valued as partners in promoting positive attendance, with support offered through empathy, understanding and collaboration.

  • Staff are proactive in identifying attendance patterns and responding early to any barriers or concerns.

  • Our systems and processes are used thoughtfully, balancing high expectations with care, compassion and flexibility.

  • Attendance is an integral part of our whole-school commitment to pupil well-being, inclusion, equity and achievement.
